Fifth Week In the fifth week, we finished all works for  the project: 1)  Complete the building of the model; 2)  Set the connected circuit and the components into the model; 3)  Check the correctness of the program in Ardunio; 4)  Do the final test. The material of the model was printed by machine and we constructed the base using the old carton. Each part of the model  was printed seperately, so at the beginning of the construction we were in trouble. But finally our group members found  suitable material to complete  establishing. In the end, we tested the system and were satisfied with the results. However, we are suppoed to fully prepared for the bench inspectionn in the next week. Fourth week In the fourth week, we have completed the whole connection, there are something else we have done shown in the following: 1) Complete the design of the home; 2) Test the program of LCD part; 3) Set the circuit in the model. Actually, the fingerprint system had many issues when it was tested in the circuit connected. Additionally, the program for the LCD part went wrong, there was nothing shown on the screen. At first, we thought the reason is that the model number is  different with that in the program. But after testing for many times, the mistake was found in the connection of the UNO board and the LCD.  For the design, the material for the home was  not so satisfied as we hoped. Sometimes it is difficult to keep the setting tidy and functionality togther. Next week we are going to complete the setting and start to do the poster. The project will be finsihed in the next week. Third week In the third week, we are going to reach the goal shown in the following: 1) Connect the circuit together with generators; 2) Test the LCD part in the fingerprinter system; 3) Design the basic structure of the home; 4) Set the value in sound system. However, sometimes the bluetooth signal is bad and it is difficult to connect fingerprint with generator. What's more, the fingerprinter system is unstable. We can find the fingerprint just stored, but it would take a while to find the one stored before or it just failed. The value in sound system should be decided after testing, but the value required is different after each test. We decided to complete the design in the next week and test all the systems and connect the generator as a door correctly. Second week   In the second week, our group are going to achieve these aims: 1) Create a bluetooth app to control the system; 2) Complete the password and fingerprint parts of the door system; 3) Use the LCD to test the fingerprint part; 4) Test the system controlled by the sound; 5) Find methods to test the alarm sensor system. However, there were still some problem caused by the program , like the decibel setting .  But we decided a proper range finally. In addition, we found the mistake in the connection caused the problems in fingerprint system. We planned to  design the structure of the home and connect the system together with generator next week.   First week In the first week, we are going to complete this activities: 1) Each group member completed the circuits they  are responsible for. 2) Considered how to connect bluetooth with the circuits and how to write the program for UNO board. 3)Discussed the problems. Plan structure: We connected the circuits for each system successfully but there are some difficulties in programming and bluetooth. Moreover, we were unfamiliar with some components like relayer shield. There are too many interfaces on UNO board, and we do not have enough knowlege of its function. Therefore, we could not prove the correctness of circuits. And it is inconvenient to test smoke alarm, we can not simulate the condition in the lab . To be brief, it was a good start, but there were many detailed things to think about. Introduction Smart Home   The main aim for this project is to  create a system to control some basic installations in a house. In this house, lights, door and window can be controlled by bluetooth even though there is a long distance between the installations and the user. In addition, the door can be opened through fingerprints and there is a smoke alarm to prevent fire. Furthermore, some of the lights can be controlled by the sound. We want to create a system which is based on some advanced technologies and then provides users with a more intelligent living environment. Furthermore, it is a good opportunity to get more knowledge about some components and circuits. Improving our practical ability to create systems and find methods to construct them is also one of important objectives.
